On Sunday, we kick-off National Catholic Schools Week, an annual celebration of Catholic education, which runs January 28-February 3. This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” At NCA, we are blessed to be part of such a special community where we can learn, pray and grow together. As a 2013 Blue Ribbon School, NCA exemplifies this year’s theme with our high standards of academic excellence; our commitment to a faith-filled, well-rounded education; and our focus on service and leadership.
We have a fun week of events and activities planned. On Sunday, each of our six parishes is celebrating the spirit of NCA with special NCA Masses. We will also be hosting Catholic Schools Week Open Houses at both campuses on Sunday. Our Primary School Campus (PreK-4) will be open 11am-1:00pm, and our Middle School Campus (5-8) will be open 12:00-2:00pm. Everyone in our community is invited: parishioners, neighbors, alumni, current families and prospective parents! Come celebrate Catholic education with us! Meet administration and staff, talk to parents and teachers, and visit our dynamic classrooms. NCA is currently accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year, so this is the perfect opportunity to come learn more about our award winning school. We will also have information about the Illinois Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarships. Call 773-743-6277 to learn more about admissions for 2018-19.
On Wednesday, January 31, you’re invited to our Rebecca Caudill Read Aloud at 7pm in the Primary School Lunchroom (recommended for fourth grade and up). A mystery guest will read excerpts from "I Will Always Write Back" by Calitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda. Or join us in prayer at our All-School Catholic Schools Week Mass at St. Gertrude Church at 8:30am. Immediately following we will award our annual Heart of NCA. We look forward to celebrating Catholic education with you!
