🌱 During recess, NCA students helped dig out wild plants growing in the traffic triangle at the corner of Thome and Granville. Mrs. Backis and students planted several sage plants, one pea plant, and two types of kale. More seedlings will be added as the weather warms. A few students marveled at a roly poly.
🚌 This tiny garden is dedicated to the memory of Mike Cannon. Mr. Cannon drove the NCA bus for decades, parking the bus right near this very spot to pick up students each day. Mike loved NCA. When he wasn’t driving the bus, Mike was always asking what he could do to help out the school.
Hopefully, this garden will express the gratitude we continue to have for Mr. Cannon’s contributions and love for NCA. Eventually, a sign will be added in his memory. Stop by the “Triangle Garden” to check out the plants and remember Mr. Cannon.
