Deeply rooted on Chicago's North Side

Northside Catholic Academy (NCA) carries on a proud legacy of Catholic education that began more than 100 years ago. Originally, six parish schools—St. Gertrude, St. Gregory the Great, St. Henry, St. Ignatius, St. Ita, and St. Jerome—served families across Chicago’s North Side. Today, generations of students, parents, and grandparents continue to build our community.

In 1994, these schools came together to form Northside Catholic Academy, a regional school created to strengthen Catholic education in the area through collaboration and shared resources.

In 2024, NCA transitioned to a single-campus model to better serve our students and community in a unified, vibrant environment. Today, NCA serves the parishes and neighborhoods of St. Gertrude, Mary, Mother of God (formed from the merger of St. Gregory the Great and others), St. Jerome, and Holy Child Jesus (a merged parish that includes the legacy of St. Henry and St. Margaret Mary). This strong foundation allows us to continue our mission of academic excellence, faith formation, and community building for generations to come.
